NAME the PORTA POTTY CONTEST

Submit a name for the Name the Porta Potties Contest event on the Hot Air Affairs Facebook page.  Submit names and/or vote for your favorite name.

This year’s Hot Air Affair theme is fun Star Wars theme of the “Sky Walkers Return to Rock”. So put on your thinking hat (hope its a warm one) and let’s get creative and name those Frozen John, Dark Planet Privy, Obi-wan Commodebi, The Frozen Carbonite Thunder Closet…

The porta potties names with the most “likes” & “loves” in Facebook event will be the winners. The names will be displayed at Hudson Hot Air Affair on the porta potties.

The contest ends on January 31, 2026.

Kids Ice Fishing Contest

FREE KIDS’ ICE FISHING EXTRAVAGANZA

Ice fishing at the Perch Lake Road Boat Launch, 497 Perch Lake Road. Equipment and mentors on site. Giveaways for all the participants.

Limited parking at Perch Lake, please take the shuttle to the site from Carbone’s Pizzeria/Willow River Saloon (1106 County Road A, Hudson, WI).

HOT AIR BALLOON MOON GLOW or FIELD of FIRE

Hot air balloons light up the dark so bring your camera for this spectacular event!  In case of windy weather, the Moon Glow becomes a Field of Fire. with baskets & burners.

Notice: It will get colder after dark, so DRESS WARM! Boots, winter coat, hat & mittens/gloves are recommended.

Come early for this popular event. You don’t want to miss this as the balloon can only remain inflated/burners going for an hour.  
Plan for heavy traffic and come early for the best parking.

PRIZE DROP FUNDRAISER for ST. CROIX VALLEY FOOD BANK

Hot Air Affair fundraiser for St. Croix Valley Food Bank.

Join the fun and watch the Prize Drop event on Saturday, February 7 at 2pm at EP Rock School grounds. Xcel Energy will drop hundreds of numbered balls from a bucket truck onto a target below.

Get your ticket for a suggested donation of $5 for a chance to win a cash prize of $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place or $25 third place prize. You need not be present to win. Tickets available from the Food Bank (prior to HHAA) or on the launch field during Hot Air Affair.

SMOOSH BOARD COMPETITION

Join in Hot Air Affair’s wackiest winter sport with 4 people strapped onto two Smooshboards. Prizes for each member of the competition winning team, and individual prizes for the best “Sky Walkers return to Rock” team costumes. Smooshboards are be available, but you are highly encouraged to make your own Smooshboards (Skis) for the competition.
