Starts Saturday, January 15:  LEARN to SNOWSHOE CLASSES, coordinated by St. Croix County Parks.  Jan. 15 & 21 at Stanton County Forest, Jan. 22 at Homestead Parklands on Perch Lake, Feb. 5 at Glen Hills Park and Feb. 18 & 19 at Kinnickinnic County Forest.  $10 per person and children under 16 free with paying adult.  Contact Aleisha Miller to register at 715-531-1915. Both Classes Have Filled! Thursday, January 27, 6pm:  HAA CANVAS PARTY PAINTING CLASS with AUDREY MARTIN, featuring S’mores & More picture, at Cracked Barrel Winery, 570 Coulee Trail.  This painting is on a 11″ x 14″ traced canvas using a brush. This class is a special fundraiser for the Hudson hot Air Affair. I will be donating part of the proceeds towords the event. The fee is $45 per person for class and supplies. Must pre-register!

The January 27 class has filled. Audrey has added another date to paint the S’mores and More painting on Wednesday, February 2nd 6-9pm.

7pm:  TORCHLIGHT “S’MORES and MORE, BALLOONS GALORE” PARADE.  Featuring prizes for the best overall parade unit, the best unit by hot air balloonist, the best “S’Mores and More, Balloons Galore” themed unit and the best kazoo marching band.  Hot air balloon pilots and crews displaying blasts of fire.  Parade participants line up at 6 pm at Wells Fargo Bank parking lot and parade travels down Second Street.  Please call 715-386-8332, 651-271-1305 or 715-381-2050 by noon on February 4 to register.  Parade sponsors include Christenson Vision Care, Citizens State Bank, Culver’s-Hudson, Gavic Construction, Hudson Bowling Center/Plaza Lounge, Jonesy’s Local Bar & Grill, The Oral Surgery Center, Valley Agencies, Viking Electronics, Walmart-Hudson, Winzer Stube, and Xcel Energy.

Smoosh Board1pm:  SMOOSH BOARD COMPETITION at E.P. Rock school grounds.  Hot Air Affair’s wackiest winter sport with 4 people on a smoosh boards.  Coordinated by John Knutson and the Women from Milwaukee. Are you brave enough to SMOOSHBOARD at the Hudson Hot Air Affair? A team is 4 people… on two skis/boards… first to navigate the course and cross the finish line wins the heat in the double elimination competition.

The fame and fortune (of winning prizes worth well under $10) is incredible! Prizes for best team plus best “S’Mores and More, Balloons Galore” costumes.  Smoosh boards available.

1 pm:  ANIMALS of the ST. CROIX at Angel’s Pet World. Kids come see Carpenter Nature Center naturalist and animal ambassadors at Angel’s Pet World (105 2nd St, Hudson, WI). Kids learn about nature in the St. Croix Valley.

2pm:  S’MORES and MORE FUNDRAISER for PROACT at E.P. Rock school grounds, sponsored by 8CH PRINT. The prize drop is 2 pm, sponsored by 8CH PRINT. The winner receives a $100 cash prize, $50 for 2nd and $25 third place prize. Get a free marshmallow roasting fork with your $5 ticket.  Raise funds for ProAct. Tickets available on the launch field and in the school cafeteria..

Balloon Launch(Canceled due to wind) 3pm:  BALLOON LAUNCH at E.P. Rock school grounds, 340 13th Street South.  This is an optional flight. This means that if the balloons are able to fly at the morning launch, pilots can participate at the 3:00 flight at their discretion. However, if the balloons are not able to fly in the morning (and if weather permits) there will be a mass ascension flight at 3:00 pm.  Event highlight!  All inflations and flights are weather dependent.
