COUNT DOWN EVENT
at Family Fresh Market.  Food sampling, martial arts demo and entertainment.  Register to win prizes, including a balloon ride in Airganic Garden hot air balloon during HAA 2014.

Saturday, January 18, 5-8 pm: 
CANDLELIGHT HIKE AND SKI,
YMCA Camp St. Croix, sponsored by PCK Foundation and Valley Agencies' Dennis Lee. Candle-lit trails for cross-country skiing and hiking along with trail side fires for quick warm ups.  Come see a hot air balloon.  Complimentary refreshments hosted by Art Doyle's Spokes & Pedals.  Free admission.

Saturday, January 25, 1-3 pm: 
IGNITE MARTIAL ARTS OPEN HOUSE
, sponsored by Ignite Martial Arts.  Demo team performance with board breaking.  Try our Jackie Chan inspired Obstacle Course. Learn the Karate Kid kick and channel your inner Bruce Lee- move like water- learn to use Nunchaku.

FAMILY DAY ACTIVITY,
The Phipps Center for the Arts.  Family members of all ages will create a theme masterpiece and then march behind "The Phipps is for Kids" banner in the "The Silver Screen" Torchlight Parade on Feb. 7.  All materials provided for this FREE hands-on art-making activity.  Call 715-386-2305 to sign up.

7:00 pm: TORCHLIGHT "The Silver Screen" PARADE, FEATURING PRIZES FOR THE BEST OVERALL PARADE UNIT, THE BEST UNIT BY HOT AIR BALLOONISTS, THE BEST "The Silver Screen" THEME UNIT, THE BEST UGLY HAT AND THE BEST KAZOO MARCHING BAND.  Hot air balloon pilots and crews displaying blasts of fire. Parade participants line up at 6 pm at Wells Fargo Bank parking lot and parade travels down Second Street. Prizes in each category. 7:30 am: BALLOON LAUNCH, nearly 40 hot air balloons, including special shapes, in mass ascension flight. E.P. Rock school grounds (340 13th Street South). Concessions and souvenirs available.

7:00 am-noon: PANCAKE BREAKFAST, , Masonic Temple, 209 Locust Street. Sponsored by Masonic Lodge #56. Menu includes pancakes, ham, scrambled eggs, biscuits & sausage gravy, sweet rolls, fruit, beverages. $7.00 adults, $3.50 children under 11.

8:00 am-8:00pm MARKETPLACE AND CRAFT FAIR, E.P. Rock School. Craft and souvenir selection with special winter apparel, ballooning and Hot Air Affair emphasis. Visit the Hot Air Affair booth for souvenirs, Hot Air Affair apparel and collectibles. Hot food and drinks available in cafeteria by local non-profit groups.

10:00 am: UP, UP & AWAY 5K FUN RUN/WALK, Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, sponsored by Anytime Fitness-Hudson, Thrivent Financial-Tracy Berglund, Walgreens-Hudson and Mc Cabe Chiropractic & Wellness Center. 12:00 - 3:00 pm: MINNESOTA KITE SOCIETY, E.P. Rock school grounds, sponsored by Xcel Energy. Society members provide a kite ground display, stunt kite demos, fighter kites. Kites for kids of all ages available for sale.

1:00 pm: WINNING THE 2013 AMERICA?S CHALLENGE GAS BALLOON RACE, as told by Peter Cuneo, Hudson House Grand Hotel. Hear how Peter and his wife Barbara Fricke flew 60+ hours in a gas balloon from Albuquerque, NM over the central United States and the full length of Lake Superior before landing near White River, Canada. Presented by Silver Screen Sponsors.

1:00 pm: SMOOSH BOARD COMPETITION, E.P. Rock school grounds. Hot Air Affair?s wackiest winter sport with 4 people on the same smoosh boards. Call (715) 386-1155 for team registration, $10 per team. Prizes for best team in competition plus best ?"The Silver Screen"? costumes. Smoosh boards available.

1:00-3:00 pm: CRAFTS FOR KIDS "The Silver Screen", sponsored by Associated Bank at E.P. Rock School Marketplace. Kids join in making free crafts.

5:00-9:30 pm: EMPTY BOWLS AND CONCERT F EATURING AMERICAN IDOL FINALIST REED GRIMM PLUS JENNIFER & TREY GRIMM, ? Hudson High School Auditorium, sponsored by Youth Action Hudson. Empty Bowls homemade soup for a goodwill donation from 5-7 pm. Concert from 7:30-9:30 pm with proceeds benefiting YAH and Hudson SAFE. Concert general admission tickets at County Market and Family Fresh Market.

6:30 pm: HOT AIR BALLOON MOON GLOW OR FIELD OF FIRE, E.P. Rock school grounds. Hot air balloons light up the dark so bring your camera for this spectacular event! In case of windy weather, Moon Glow becomes a Field of Fire. Presented by WESTconsin Credit Union and Silver Screen Sponsors.
